I've just come accross this really interesting collection of mainly private photographs from 1900 till 1990. It's a private collection that took over 20 years to put together, some bought, some donated, some found in rubbish. The photos in the collection had never been counted. They are guessing it to be somewhere between 30-40 thousand.
There is almost nothing known about these pictures but it is absolutely fascinating to go through them and have a peek of times we never lived or times like the 80's when I was growing up for example for the memories. There are some professional photos among them also with amazing poses, lighting and fashion. I guess in the early 20th century not too many people owned cameras yet.
The site is very simple. Since there are no tags and lables, it is impossible to search. You can go by the year (approximately) or the type of object, like people, places etc. You can just run the pictures outomatically or keep hitting next after you had enough admiring. So for some time travelling visit: FORTEPAN.HU
Did you notice that our prices are now all full Euros or Dollars without cents? Do you really miss them?
Here's what's going on to cut it short. Our prices are in Euros at default. When you change the shop currency to another, the system grabs the current rate from the European Central Bank and recalculates them according to that. So we are always up to date and give a fair price to all who would like to pay in some other currency we support. It's all very nice until this point.
The currencies wore set with 2 decimal places to be able to show nice prices like 9.99. When they got exchanged, they got rounded to be with 2 decimals. The problem is that some currencies out there don't have any change. Like Hungarian Forints which is one of ours. When they got converted they also got them. This was unacceptable for Paypal's system, one payment option we use, and it threw back an error which made checking out impossible in this particular currency. We had two option sto choose from. Drop Forints or drop the cents. We have put in a lot of work translating this site's content to Hungarian and without the option to pay in Forints would have just been silly. So we dropped the cents.
Those prices that ended with .99 we rounded down. So, good bye 199.99, hello 199. You save 99 cents. Who's laughing now?
Nedávno jsme reorganizovali celého rozložení a logiku goprophoto.eu.

This is real cool. Everybody, who's up to naughty things should have one (pair?) of these. They would save some Photoshop work. The Embarrassing Photo Protective specs are sold by Urban Outfitters who also sells eyelashes for cars that is a must have for all lady drivers. They say, if you are up to no good and you are scared of being photographed at it you have 2 solutions: 1. Stop doing that thing; or 2: Get a pair of these face-blocking shades.
I recommend to take the 2nd choice and carry on having fun.
Suppose it's not very flash friendly, but really, who cares?
Už byl čas. Opravdu. No, všude ...
