Joining paths - 2007/06/29 00:20I never really needed to work with paths until recently. I am getting a hold on the pen tool now but I still don't get how I can join the created paths together into one. Or how to divide them.
Does anybody know the trick?Will snap for beer.

Re:Joining paths - 2007/07/01 08:51You shouldn't need to create them into one - As long as you don't create a new path 'layer', all the paths you draw will work as one.
If you want them to be separate then you would go to 'Create new path' on the path window.

Re:Joining paths - 2007/07/05 03:07I guess you could use the drop down menu in the path pallet, choose 'make selection' of your first path, then select the next path and again choose 'make selection'. This time it will give you the option of adding to, subtracting, or intersecting from the previous selection...

I have one more difficulty though. It is when I create a work path from a selection. Sometimes the path has way too complicated edges with a lot of unnecessary control points. Like this for example:
