Beware of Reverend Bill - 2009/03/20 14:09
This thread discusses the Content article: Beware of Reverend Bill
Just thought to bring it over here to be together with the other scam related posts.
Or Dr. John Anderson who in a new email scam are out there to get our fellow photographer's hard earned money.
If you get an email like this or similar with little alterations:
Hello,
I have a group of people coming to your town for a tour and i want you to cover this tour based on your expertise in the feild of photography. They are 10 in number and the period of work is 3hrs every day on their outings, they will also take you in their vehicle so all i need is for you to confirm the availability of you to cover this event for 10days.
Date of tour :25th of November to the 5th of December, 2008 Number of Persons: 10
Kindly get back to me with the availability and i will send you my credit card for an upfront deposit. note you will print all the photos and your balance will be paid after checking at the end of the tour.
Regards Rev Thomas Bill
you are being scammed. I didn't reply to it but this is what happens if you do: http://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=34182&targetid=34418
For me it was suspicious for the first sight as there was not my town or place mentioned and if I would be writing something like this I would be saying that I'll be coming to so and so area. Other thing was that thre return email was different from the sending email. Which is also not normal. Especially when we are talking about yahoo and msn mails.
So, don't reply to the evil reverend.
Will snap for beer. |
