Stock Investment telephone calls or emails - 2009/09/14 16:53 I get at least 2-3 of these calls every week where an unstoppable person talking on the behalf of an unheard of investment company trying to give you some stock recommendations.
Of course I never get anything from them but even to end the call can be really difficult. You have to be really strong, put away any kind of politeness and just hang up.

What's wrong with these calls? They are using the Pump and Dump method and they have the skills to talk you into buying worthless stocks. Among other small business owners, photographers are ideal victims for this. So watch out. They are of course sending out spam emails as well in a similar way showing a ticker of a madly rising stock usually presented as an insider info. Don't reply.

I've just recently seen the film "Boiler Room" about the scammers themselves which I recommend to everybody. Interesting is that the film is from 2000 and the number of these calls or spam emails is still increasing. Probably it taught the trick to a few others.
Will snap for beer.
