SplashCase Beta 0.6.3 - 2010/07/02 01:01 Hi,
I'm Christopher from Allen Christopher Software. We are very serious about delivering an excellent product to you and equally excited to have GoProPhoto host this SplashCase Beta discussion.

What is SplashCase?
The goal is to make SplashCase your "front line" for your Event Photography. SplashCase will be the application that shows your customers their photos and ultimately allows them to select the ones they wish to purchase.

    Our idea is to integrate:
  • An intelligent slideshow module that allows you to show your Event Photos as they are shot.

  • Allow Photo Selection (mouse or touch screen) by an operator or customer for the purpose of printing or saving to removable media.

  • Barcode and RFID scanning for instant recall of a customer's photos. An on-screen keypad will also be present for manually entering in barcode numbers if necesssary.

What can SplashCase do now?
SplashCase's slideshow module is currently functioning and will support up to two monitors per system.

Looking Ahead
We will do our best to implement as much as we can, as fast as we can. Again, we are looking to create an exceptional product that suits your need.

I personally look forward to hearing from all of you!

Re:SplashCase Beta 0.6.3 - 2010/07/03 23:48 I love what the program can do so far. I would like to see an info button to show the present settings.

Does anyone else use Eye-Fi? (For those that dont know about it - it transfers your images from your camera to your computer wirelessly.) I use it and combined with SplashCase it looks awesome.

SplashCase also displays images that are added while the slide show is going on.

Waiting to see more features as they are added.

We love our Eye-fi cards! We use them with PrintRipper as well.

I neglected to mention an undocumented feature in SplashCase. If you are using more than one monitor, you can bounce your slideshow between screens with the key combos: SHIFT-1 and SHIFT-2 (monitor 1, monitor 2 respectively).

Keep the messages coming-

Re:SplashCase Beta 0.6.3 - 2010/07/25 23:03 The expression event photography might ring different bells at different places. To clear up some misunderstandings I wrote a few words about it here: Event Photography - What are we talking about?
I hope this will help understanding what this software is intended for.

Re:SplashCase Beta 0.6.3 - 2010/07/27 05:03 Nice Article, Norbert. Here in the states, there's a bit of confusion of what encompasses "Event Photography".

I also find that Wedding photographers, even though considered "Event Photographers", have completely different needs than those shooting at theme parks or aboard cruise ships.

Anyway, I wanted to offer an update as to what we are doing internally with SplashCase. We have a ton of development underway, from a major update underway for PrintRipper (big enough to bring us to v 2.0), development of a brand-new product (think Photo Booth), and of course, SplashCase.

We've gotten great feedback on SplashCase so far and wanted to share an update that we will be shipping in the next Beta Version. See the link Below:

Re:SplashCase Beta 0.6.3 - 2010/07/28 06:49 Definitely needs an option to display the file name, (preferably with an option to hide the prefix.suffix). Ability to resize text/position would also be nice...
