The first thing that I noticed with 0.7.2 is that when photos are added while the slide show is going on, the added photo(s) does not get added in the slide show. That is one of the important features for me.

That is definitely a BUG. You should be able to add photos at will and they should end up in the slideshow by the time it cycles through. It should also "showcase" the new photos immediately in a 1-Up fashion, then resume where it left off in the slideshow.

I just finished enabling GDI plus for Windows, which will give you nice, smooth, anti-aliased text on-screen.

I'm looking into the addition/subtraction of photos bug now and will get a new build out asap.

SplashCase Beta 0.7.5 Windows/Mac available now - 2010/09/01 22:55 We've just posted SplashCase Beta v0.7.5 for Windows and Macintosh. A handful of changes have been made and include:

  • GDI+ added for anti-aliased text (Windows).

  • Fixed crash on secondary slideshow when photos are added/deleted.

  • Fixed crash when a folder is selected for your slideshow, then reselected, then canceled.

  • Fixed a bug keeping slideshows from updating with the latest images (Windows)
Preference Window options have been rearranged, streamlined.

You can download the latest version of SplashCase here:
Windows version:
http://www.goprophoto.eu/index.php/downloads/view-details/software-demos/allen-christopher/ splashcase-beta-for-windows.html
Macintosh version:
http://www.goprophoto.eu/index.php/downloads/view-details/software-demos/allen-christopher/ splashcase-beta-for-mac-os-x.html

Also, we've gotten some feedback suggesting that we split SplashCase into two versions-
  • One version to contain the slideshow features and options.

  • Another version to contain slideshow features and options as well as PrintRipper integration, barcode and RFID sorting, and selectable/sortable photos (customer-driven).

Any feedback on this is welcome!
Best Regards,

Yes, I would love that. I am still looking for the ideal photo presenting software. After my portrait sessions I present the pics immediately while the sensation is still fresh. The customer chooses and orders. I do the retouching after. It is of course important to present the photos smoothly and impressively to increase sales. I tried many things already but still I use Bridge, which is still the most suitable so far.
Will snap for beer.
