Lately there's a lot of talk about event photography on this site. If you would ask around what does that really mean, the answers would fall into general categories. One would be imagining the coverage of various events. Exhibitions, company meetings, congresses and so on, mainly getting paid for the covering itself with not so much depending on the final number of the pictures. I think in continental Europe this will be the main association. I use the expression on my website in the same context, and looking around a little bit I quickly find other examples like this one from Germany: www.eventfotograf.com, another one from the Czech Republic: www.fotojan.cz, and Hungary: www.eventphoto.hu. The second one mainly appears in the UK and going west.

Owning three photography related websites I am observing some trends in the amount of visitors. There is a definite increase of interest during the last couple of months. Unfortunately it doesn't show much in the sales yet, but it's a good beginning.
Let's look at this site first:
There is a steady growth in the number of visitors for 3 months now bringing about 10% rise each after a long period of decrease. (the green area shows the page loads, the blue the visitors)

Nikon President Michio Kariya was pleased to announce just last week that NASA ordered eleven D3S digital SLR cameras and seven AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED lenses to be used for photographic documentation.
Nikon cameras had been around in space and in the use of NASA for a really long time. Here's a rundown:
| 1971 |
Nikon Photomic FTN* (NASA specifications) was used on Apollo 15 |
| 1980 |
The "Small Camera", based on the Nikon F3 and equipped with a motor drive, and the F3 "Big Camera", which utilized long film, were delivered to NASA.
The "Small Camera" was used aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia launched the following year. |
| 1991 |
The Nikon F4 and F4S were delivered to NASA |
| 1999 |
The Nikon F5 and AF Nikkor lens were carried aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery to photograph extravehicular activities (EVA) |
| 2008 |
D2XS digital SLR cameras were delivered to NASA. Six D2XS cameras are used in space to document activities such as inspection and maintenance. |
Now that reminds me that I have a Nikon F3 in the bazaar , anybody interested? Not sure if it was in space or not. It was on a ship for sure.

My FA 140/1040B minilab and his mate FP 350 is for sale together, separate or even by parts. It wasn't in use anyway for years, just taking up space and dust.
I've bought it on the Ebay from Toronto, Canada and it never worked since. If you are thinking about doing the same email me and I'll tell you who was the seller so you don't end up like me.
If you want them in one piece step up soon before I sell the parts. Otherwise everything must go. Paper magazines, racks, bellows, lenses, pumps, pipes, boards, casing, simply everything.
Email me (you can use the site's contact form if you are not registered) with the part number or description you need and I will check if I still have it. We agree on the price, you pay and I will dismantle and mail it to you.
Attention: Such things should go to the bazaar. This case is an exception.
