Lecso Festival in Szentes, Hungary

We are just back from Szentes, Hungary where we participated in the Lecso cooking festival. Our team supported by friends and family members, both Czech and Hungarian, was one of more than 230 that was cooking on this fine day.

People from the packed streets were sniffing into our bowl from the moment we got the go ahead to light the fire.  This resulted in a long hungry line of them at the moment we started to give out the portions. We had to give everybody who wanted to try it so some of them and even us didn't get any and had to eat from other teams.  At the end we were rewarded with an extra price that we sure deserved.

We might repeat this one day. Then we will have 2 bowls to have enough for everybody.

This is how we made it in case you wanted to cook and try the GoPro Lecso:

1. We fried smoked Hungarian sausages chopped to about half cm slices onolive oil.
2. We added the finely chopped onions to it and fried them too.
3. We chopped up (the smaller the better) lots of peppers and tomatoes and hot paprikas and added it to it.
4. Once pretty much cooked we added eggs.
5. Seasoned it with salt, pepper and saffron.

The proportions we don't remember anymore. Just do it to your liking.
