 I've just come accross this really interesting collection of mainly private photographs from 1900 till 1990. It's a private collection that took over 20 years to put together, some bought, some donated, some found in rubbish. The photos in the collection had never been counted. They are guessing it to be somewhere between 30-40 thousand.
There is almost nothing known about these pictures but it is absolutely fascinating to go through them and have a peek of times we never lived or times like the 80's when I was growing up for example for the memories. There are some professional photos among them also with amazing poses, lighting and fashion. I guess in the early 20th century not too many people owned cameras yet.
The site is very simple. Since there are no tags and lables, it is impossible to search. You can go by the year (approximately) or the type of object, like people, places etc. You can just run the pictures outomatically or keep hitting next after you had enough admiring.
